Witness Love In Mankind, and God's Everlasting Love

Our church, The Praise Assembly, has lost two precious saints within a year, and our community has lost two excellent doctors - Dr. Albert Chan Wai-Hing (2002) and Dr. Joanna Tse Yuen-Man (2003). We are deeply grieved at the loss. The death of Joanna from atypical pneumonia in May has triggered an unprecedented outpouring of grief and sadness among Hong Kong's citizens. Many are touched by the story of the young widow who willingly sacrificed her life to save others. Together, their lives have been an inspiration and example to other fellow Christians to faithfully follow God's commandments, preach the Gospel, love God and love others.

A Life That Was Found On True Love

"Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds." - John 12:24. In Jesus Christ we can sense His sweet presence, and the loveliness of Jesus emits a sweet fragrance. In life, Joanna embodied the sweetness and fragrance of our Lord and Savior.

"Love never stops and the covenant under the rainbow never changes;
resting in God waiting to meet again in the clouds". Joanna penned this for her husband's memorial service last year. It was a touching expression of her heart as it reflects her love for her husband and her strong faith in eternal life. Everyone who has known Joanna can testify to the love, concern and sincerity that she shows from her heart.

Her journey on earth, though brief, was lived to the fullest. She excelled academically and as a medical worker. Joanna lived to serve others, reflecting Christ's example.

Dear friend, you may ask how can Joanna have such deep assurance of faith in her Lord Jesus? For it is HE who has carried her to victory in life and in death, and through all her trials and sorrows. As in the words of a well-known hymn, "Jesus is my dear friend, bearing my sin and grief..." Oh, the power of life is from knowing the "merciful friend," JESUS! He is the Lord Jesus Christ who enables men and women to be victorious over sin and trials, and who is the Resurrection and the Life.

Today, Joanna has entered her rest and is reunited with her husband in heaven "under the rainbow." We are very proud of her, and we look up to her as our role model. We would like to invite you, dear friend, to receive Jesus Christ into your heart to be your Lord and Savior, and to walk with Him. As you read Joanna's life testimony, and you feel you, too, are being tossed by the storms of fife, we want to present to you an opportunity to invite the Creator of the storm into your heart. You will find peace, love and joy in Him. Pray this prayer of salvation:

"Dear Lord Jesus, although there are adversities in life, in You there is peace. Thank you for dying for me on the Cross, I acknowledge You are God and that I have sinned against You. I repent of my sins and ask You to forgive me. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me, a sinner. Because I believe in you, I have the hope of eternal life and when I die I will go to heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen"
